Oz Day 2
Gael took Ishbel and I to a flower festival [ Floriade ] it was a celebration of their Spring which is in October, it was so colourful, the walk back was a bit hard on the dodgy knees, but a half hour in Gael's jaccuzi soon remedied that

Visit to OZ
Got to go visit my family in Australia with my good buddy Ishbel. it was a long long journey, very tiring but well worth it. A great big hug from My girl Gael at the airport, she was suited and booted......looking really smart in her work clothes........[She's a diplomat at the British High Commission] very posh, we are so proud of her. Great to see Tim and the girls again. Molly and Georgia are such a joy, and they just loved Ishbel immediately.

Saying goodbye to Gael Molly and Georgia
I always wanted a sister and God gave me all these girls. This post was meant to go with the last pics, as you see I still am lost with this technology blogging lark. Anyhow the year is slipping away and I was thinking of some of the major events, Having Surgery was a first for me, both knees replaced, I never did things by half that's for sure. Jared got his Phd, so we now have a Doctor in the family, we are all so very proud of him.We also lost a good friend to cancer in July, may you rest in peace Hugh. Also the Haimes family moved out to Australia, miss them so much. Who knows what 2012 will bring, Good things I hope.

I'm trying not to be sad today, Gael, Tim and the girls are flying out to Australia tomorrow night for three years. I know it's a wonderful opportunity for them as a young family, and hopefully I will get to visit them next year.

Pure Nostalgia
Found this old photo while tidying. This was the summer of '74. Hazel was about five months old and her older sister Gael was five years old. This was one of our first cars. Gordon took me away for the week end to Nairn. I remember spending all my money in the phone box checking with the babysitter if the kids were ok. Check out Gordon's bell bottoms Ha Ha. Happy Days.

Bricking it......
Tomorrow is D day. Wishaw General in the morning for knee replacement surgery. Fear not! they've got the technology to rebuild me. I'll be the bionic wummin. I was last in hospital on Mothers day 1974 to give birth to Hazel, so I can't complain. She is coming down on Sunday to help nurse me back to health, bless her, Gordon will be lost for a few days but I'm sure Haze Babe will keep him on his toes. I must say it's been lovely tonight, the phone, e.mail and facebook have been real busy with family and friends wishing me well. I was quite touched. Oh well just got to bite the bullet now. It's good to know that Gordon will give me a priesthood blessing before I go tomorrow. Can't fail with these three carers, aren't I lucky?
